The 808nm Laser Source is based on a high-performance semiconductor laser chip, with 105/125um or 200/220um 0.22N Amultimodefiber-coupled output, and a constant-current driving circuit designed to ensure safe and stable operation. Offers 5W, 10W, and 20W output power. Provides PC host control or commands for operation and integration. Suitable for applications in fiber laser pumping, biomedicine, and so on. During long-term use, attention should be paid to the heat dissipation of the laser source.

● What is the typical wavelength tolerance?

The center wavelength is typically 808nm±5nm. Narrower wavelength control should be customized.

 

● Is the laser suitable for continuous-wave (CW) operation?

Yes. The laser source is designed for stable CW operation and can also support adjusting current and power via PC host software.

 

● Can the output power be adjusted?

Yes. The output power can be adjusted through the driving current.Benchtop version typically supports front-panel power adjustment, and theModule version supports software control or PC host commands.

 

● What cooling methods are available?

Operation Steps-808nm Laser Source

Step1. Unpacking: Before assembly, check whether all accessories are complete, includinglaser source module, USB data cable, power adapter, test report, etc.

 

Step2. Connecting Fiber Patch Cords: Remove the dust caps from the fiber connectors or adapters, and connect the fiber patch cords -or spliced fibers - to the device under test or the power meter equipment.

 

Step3. Connect the Power Supply and Serial Cable: Insert the power cord into the laser source's power port, and use the signal cable to connect the host computer to the laser. Note: For the USB-485 DB9 signal cable, the driver must be installed on the computer first;Box Optronics will provide it.

 

Setp4. Power On: The indicator light illuminates, and the laser begins operation. At this point, the operating current and laser power values correspond to the parameters set via the host software prior to the last shutdown; if adjustments are required, they can be modified and saved within the host software.

 

Step5. Control software: Box Optronics provides the serial command or PC software to control the LD current and LD temperature of the 808nm Laser Source. Choose the correct port, set the current and temperature, then click the open button. (To prevent damage, ramp up the drive current slowly at initial operation. Do not apply full current immediately.)

 

 

 

Step6. Shutdown: Upon completion of use, turn off the laser and securely replace the fiber dust cap. To prevent sudden high-power laser output -which could damage optical components -when powering on the device again, it is recommended to first adjust the power level to zero before switching off the power supply.

 

Operation Notes and Maintenance-808nm Laser Source


● During long-term use, attention should be paid to the heat dissipation of the laser source. The laser source should be fixed on the heat sink and cooled by a fan.

● When starting up, first ensure that both the power switch and the key switch are turned off, then connect the power supply. When shutting down, first turn off the key switch, and disconnect the power supply only after the indicator light has extinguished; never directly cut off the power while the equipment is in operation.

● It is not recommended to frequently insert and remove fiber optic connectors, as this increases the risk of dust contamination and potential damage to the connector end faces.

● Before connecting the fiber optic connector, it must be wiped clean using lint-free lens paper. It is imperative to use a fiber end-face inspector to verify its cleanliness before connecting it via the flange; otherwise, the end face of the connector may be burned out when the laser is activated. When connecting the flange, ensure that the operation is performed without any active light transmission. When not in use, please keep the dust cap securely placed over the fiber connector.

 

● Please take precautions against moisture; store in a dry place.

 

Quality Assurance and After-Sales Service-808nm Laser Source


● Warranty Period:

Free repair or replacement for non-human-induced defects within 1 year from purchase. Paid maintenance services available after 1 year.

● Exclusions from Free Warranty:

During the free warranty period, free repair or replacement services will be provided for faults caused by product quality issues. However, Box Optronics retains the right to refuse free repair services in the following cases within the warranty period:

(1) Damage caused by natural factors (e.g., lightning, dust) or environmental influences.

(2) Malfunctions due to improper operation by the user.

(3) Obvious physical damage caused by human error.

(4) Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair.

(5) Altered or incomplete warranty labels on the housing.

(6) Damage or loss during transportation.
