Applications

The SLED (Superluminescent Diode) serves as the core broadband, low-coherence light source in OCT systems. Its broad spectral output provides a short coherence length, enabling high axial resolution, while its low-coherence characteristics ensure that interference signals are generated only when the optical path lengths of the sample and reference arms are matched—thereby facilitating high-contrast, high-resolution tomographic imaging.

EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier) is used to amplify weak optical signals directly in the optical domain, extending transmission distance with high gain and low noise for fiber communication and sensing systems.
