Product Introduction


This is a 1064nm 20kHz Ultra-Narrow Linewidth Fiber Laser that employs a fiber-optic DFB laser cavity structure, outputting a single longitudinal mode narrow-linewidth continuous-wave laser in the 1064nm wavelength band. The output power 50/100/200/500/1000mW is optional. It supports benchtop and modular configurations with an RS232 communication interface and monitoring software for system integration. Suitable for LiDAR, hydroacoustics, and distributed fiber optic sensing.

Operation Instructions


Step1.Appearance: The module includes a power connector, power indicator, RS232 communication interface, output activation switch, and laser output fiber port.

Step2.Power Supply: The power port uses a standard DC5.5×2.1mm interface. Use only the original matched power adapter (DC5V or DC12V). Improper power adapters may damage the light source. A U-shaped connector power cable for connecting to a switch power supply is available upon request at the time of purchase.


Step3.Connecting the Fiber Optic Jumper: Remove the dust cap from the fiber connector, inspect the end face for contamination or damage, and ensure cleanliness before connecting to other fiber devices or test equipment. For high-power models, fusion splicing is recommended.


Setp4.Connecting the Module to a Host Computer: Use the included USB-RS232 serial data cable to connect the module to the computer. Install the dedicated serial driver (provided by the manufacturer) to enable communication. Without the driver, the host software cannot connect to the module.


Step5.Software:The host software allows adjusting output power and controlling laser output via the "SoftActive" button (see interface diagram below). The software displays set pump current, output power, and temperature monitoring status.


Step6.Specific software operations: As shown in the diagram, after launching the host computer software, first select the correct serial port number in the "PortList" serial port list, and click the "OpenPort" button to open the serial port. The "Power" and "LDTemp" windows will then display the module's current output power and pump temperature. Enter the pump drive current value in the "Current" field and click the "SET" button. The settings take effect and the light source outputs optical power only when both the physical button switch on the light source module and the "SoftActive" button in the software are turned on. The version number of the host computer software must match the software version specified in the product test report; the software version can be found in the test report of each product.


Step7.Parameter Memory: Settings and status configured via the software are automatically saved in the module’s internal memory. No host computer connection is required if parameters do not need modification.

Operation Notes and Maintenance


● It is not recommended to frequently insert and unplug the output fiber connectors to avoid dust contamination, which may lead to increased insertion loss or burning of the fiber connector end face.

● Clean fiber connectors with a lint-free wipe and inspect with a fiber end-face detector before connection. Always connect/disconnect fibers without power to avoid end-face burning. The fiber optic connectors must be covered with dust caps.

● If the output fiber needs to be connected to another fiber, it is recommended to use a fusion splicer.

● When starting up, first confirm that the power switch and key switch are turned off, and then connect the power supply. When shutting down, first turn off the key switch, and then disconnect the power supply after the output indicator light goes out. Do not directly cut off the power supply when the light source is working.

● Please pay attention to moisture-proof, dust-proof and anti-corrosion, and store it in a dry place.


Quality Assurance and After-Sales Service


● Warranty Period:

Free repair or replacement for non-human-induced defects within 1 year from purchase. Paid maintenance services available after 1 year.

● Exclusions from Free Warranty:

During the free warranty period, free repair or replacement services will be provided for faults caused by product quality issues. However, Box Optronics retains the right to refuse free repair services in the following cases within the warranty period:

(1) Damage caused by natural factors (e.g., lightning, dust) or environmental influences.

(2) Malfunctions due to improper operation by the user.

(3) Obvious physical damage caused by human error.

(4) Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair.

(5) Altered or incomplete warranty labels on the housing.

(6) Damage or loss during transportation.
