Box Optronics: SOA Empowers Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing Systems

2026-04-07 0 Leave me a message

Box Optronics, leveraging the technical characteristics of semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs), has launched a high-performance SOA solution for distributed fiber optic sensing: the SOA combines optical modulation/chopping and optical signal amplification functions, directly replacing the traditional AOM + EDFA combination. It achieves a high extinction ratio while increasing optical power, eliminating the need for a backend EDFA module, significantly reducing system cost, minimizing equipment size, and simplifying optical path design.

This solution can be widely applied in scenarios such as power cable monitoring, oil and gas pipeline leak detection, structural health monitoring, and geological disaster early warning. Box Optronics specializes in the R&D and mass production of optoelectronic devices, providing high-performance NLL (Narrow Linewidth Laser) and SOA (Semiconductor Optical Amplifier) solutions to help customers shorten R&D cycles, optimize costs, and accelerate the commercialization of sensing systems.
