Product Introduction


This is an 1060nm 1064nm SLD Light Source adopting superluminescent diode technology, with output power 5mW and 15mW optional, -3dB bandwidth over 15nm, flat spectrum, low ripple and excellent long-term stability. It supports benchtop and modular configurations with RS485 communication interface and monitoring software for system integration. Suitable for fiber sensing, and medical imaging. Please use with rated voltage, control temperature and humidity, ensure good heat dissipation, avoid output overload and contamination.

Operation Steps


Step1. Unpacking: Before assembly, check whether all accessories are complete, including SLED light source module, USB data cable, green port cable, power adapter, test report, etc.


Step2. Power supply: Connected to a DC switching power supply or a regulated power supply that meets their power supply requirements. Use only the original matched power adapter (DC5V or DC12V). Improper power adapters may damage the light source. (Power adapter supplied according to local voltage standards.)


Step3. Connecting output fiber: Open the dust cap at the fiber connector or flange, check the fiber end face, and connect the fiber or splice the fiber to the device or power meter to be tested after confirming that there is no pollution and damage.


Setp4. Connect to the host computer: Use the Green Port Cable and the USB-RS485 DB9 Data Cable to connect the 1060nm 1064nm SLD Light Source and the computer; the computer must first install a dedicated serial port driver to identify the USB-RS485 serial port data cable, otherwise the host computer software and the light source module cannot be correctly connected and communicated. Please ask Box Optronics for the driver.


Step5. Control software: Box Optronics provides the serial command or PC software to control the LD current and LD temperature of the 1060nm 1064nm SLD Light Source. Choose the correct port, set the current and temperature, then click the open button. (To prevent damage, ramp up the drive current slowly at initial operation. Do not apply full current immediately.)


Step6. After use, click the close button, turn off the power supply, and disconnect the fiber connection.

If you have a DHL/ UPS/ FedEx account, Box Optronics suggest using the EXW. We ship via your account; we don't charge the shipping cost.

(2) DAP:

If you don't have an account, please prepay the shipping cost for the products.

Lead time

Operation Notes and Maintenance


● It is not recommended to frequently insert or remove the fiber optic connectors at both the input and output ends, in order to prevent dust contamination—which can lead to increased insertion loss—or the burning of the fiber connector end faces.

● Clean fiber connectors with a lint-free wipe and inspect with a fiber end-face detector before connection. Always connect/disconnect fibers without power to avoid end-face burning. The fiber optic connectors must be covered with dust caps.

● If the output fiber needs to be connected to another fiber, it is recommended to use a fusion splicer.

● Please take precautions against moisture, dust, and corrosion; store in a dry place.


Quality Assurance and After-Sales Service


● Warranty Period:

Free repair or replacement for non-human-induced defects within 1 year from purchase. Paid maintenance services available after 1 year.

● Exclusions from Free Warranty:

During the free warranty period, free repair or replacement services will be provided for faults caused by product quality issues. However, Box Optronics retains the right to refuse free repair services in the following cases within the warranty period:

(1) Damage caused by natural factors (e.g., lightning, dust) or environmental influences.

(2) Malfunctions due to improper operation by the user.

(3) Obvious physical damage caused by human error.

(4) Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair.

(5) Altered or incomplete warranty labels on the housing.

(6) Damage or loss during transportation.
