While optical isolators are passive devices, proper handling is still required to maintain performance and reliability.
● Handle with clean, lint-free gloves to avoid contamination
● Work on a clean, dust-free surface
● Avoid touching the fiber end-faces directly
● Keep dust caps on connectors when not in use
● Avoid excessive bending of the fiber (minimum bend radius: 30mm)
● Do not pull or twist the fiber pigtails
● Clean fiber connectors with isopropyl alcohol before connection
● Always use dust caps when the connector is not in use
● Inspect fiber end-face for damage before use
● Do not exceed the maximum tensile load rating
● Ensure input power does not exceed the rated maximum
● Use proper power monitoring to avoid overload
● Allow for proper heat dissipation at high power levels
● Mount on a heat sink for high power continuous operation
● Mount the isolator securely using the 4 mounting holes
● Ensure proper alignment to minimize additional loss
● Allow sufficient space for fiber bending radius
